The SciCom Café is an open and welcoming community for everyone interested in science communication.
We started in 2024 as a casual meet-up, initiated by Dr. Annika Kreikenbohm at the University of Würzburg. This has grown into a lively space for exchange, peer learning, mutual support, and collaborative projects — such as our Science Pub.
We want to create a friendly community of practice where people can share ideas, ask questions, try out formats, and talk openly about the joys and challenges of communicating science.
Whether you are a student, researcher, communicator, designer, educator, or simply curious about science communication: you are welcome to join us. Bring your questions, your ideas, your experiments — or just come by for a coffee and a conversation.
We meet every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 4 –5 pm at the Uni Würzburg Press Department (Zwinger 32a, 97070 Würzburg, Room 0.001).
